Vehicle to Person Protection
Accidents occur frequently between heavy machinery (such as forklifts) and pedestrians because of their heavy loads. The driver’s vision can be impaired because of the load, there can be blind spots where the vehicle is operating and the forklift can be carrying loads that could strike a pedestrian worker.
ZoneSafe Vehicle to Person is a Proximity Detection System that detects personnel working in close proximity to forklift trucks, reducing the risk of accidental collisions and serious injuries.
System Overview
The in-cab control unit is fitted to the vehicle within reach of the vehicle’s operator. An audible visual alarm alerts the driver every time anyone wearing an active RFID tag enters the detection zone. The unit has the capability to store and send data on each ZoneSafe application.
A detection antenna is fitted to the vehicle creating a 3-9 metre detection zone around the vehicle. Anyone wearing an active RFID tag will be identified when they enter the detection zone.
An active RFID tag is worn by all personnel. The tag can be placed in a hi viz jacket, clipped to a lanyard or simply placed in your pocket.
Vehicle to Vehicle Protection

ZoneSafe Asset Protection is a Proximity Detection System that helps to prevent collisions between assets and vehicles, increasing safety and awareness across work sites.
System Overview
Safety detection cones, fitted with ZoneSafe tags are placed on or around an asset. Vehicles are fitted with a ZoneSafe in-cab control unit with detection antennas. The antenna creates a 360° continuous detection zone around the vehicle – with an adjustable range of 3-9 metres.
When the system identifies a cone tag within the vehicle’s zone, the control unit emits an audible and visual alarm inside the cab– warning the operator of a potential collision.
The operator of the vehicle can then take appropriate measures to avoid a collision – slowing down or altering course.The alarm will continue to sound until all cone tags are safely clear of the vehicle’s zone

However, accidental collisions can still occur – due to blind corners, busy or noisy environments or unfamiliarity with the site layout.
ZoneSafe Walkway and Crossing Alert is a Proximity Detection System that helps to reduce accidental collisions through audible and visual warnings, ensuring that your pedestrian worker is aware of any oncoming vehicles.
System Overview
The standard ZoneSafe Vehicle to Person Alert system is fitted to the vehicle, with a detection antenna. The ZoneSafe Vehicle Detection Unit (VDU) is positioned near the pedestrian crossing, walkway or blind corner – wherever there is chance of collisions. This is also connected to warning lights located to the crossing or walkway.
The ZoneSafe VDU detects an approaching vehicle. Once detected, the VDU activates warning lights located at the crossing point. This warns the pedestrians of any incoming vehicles – and indicates whether it is safe to cross.
This application can also be set up with a barrier system. The VDU can ensure that the barrier or gate automatically closes when vehicles approach a crossing or walkway. The barrier will only open when the walkway is clear of vehicles, reducing the chance of an accident.

Drop Zone Proximity Warning
ZoneSafe Drop Zone is used to protect groundworkers from being struck by falling objects / equipment whilst personnel are working at height on structures such as overhead pylons and / or overhead conductors.
When work is undertaken above ground and at height, materials, equipment or tools can be accidentally dropped, causing a significant risk to personnel working on the ground below. The ZoneSafe system creates an invisible demarcation zone below the point of work, known as the ‘Drop Zone’, and warns the workers when they enter it.
System Overview
- All groundworkers wear a ZoneSafe Tag. This ensures they are detected whe entering the drop zone.
- The Drop Zone Detection Unit is set up underneath the overhead work area and creates an invsible demarcation zone around the area of up to 18m diameter.
- An audible and vidual warning from the unit alerts all workers when they enter the zone.
- When the worker exits the drop zone, the alarm stops.
